DIY Mother's Day Gift Idea | Floral Initials

Mother's Day is on May 11! Did you get your mother a gift yet?  Here is a easy and fun DIY! These are floral initials that you can personalize for her.  She can store this on her office desk, nightstand, or anywhere she wants.  The best thing about it is that it's personalized and the artificial flowers will last forever! All supplies were under $5, bringing the total cost to only $25 and under.

Here is what I did to create this...
With acrylic paint, paint the wooden letters and plaque.  Let dry.
Glue artificial flowers with hot glue onto wooden letters.  Before this you want to draft where each flower will go and you can start gluing.
*Paint and flower choice is up to you.  When choosing flowers just make sure they fit on the letters because you don't want it to overlap the letter, otherwise you won't be able to tell what letter it is.

When you have covered each letter.  Remove the tag on the back of the letter to ensure that the glue and letter will stick together.
Place on plaque.
When glue is dried that means everything is done!

Don't forget to wrap it in a box with a ribbon!

DIY Inspired Pineapple Pillow

Hi everyone!

From my previous DIY many of you asked for a DIY tutorial about the pineapple pillow that was featured in the video.  The pineapple pillow was a gift from my boyfriend and I included it with the scallop pillow just for decoration.  Since I received so many request for a tutorial I spent weeks trying to figure out the right materials and how I was going to put this all together.  So the video above shows my outcome.  It came out to be more on the square side so that is why I am calling this an "inspired" pineapple pillow.  As always the materials are affordable.  You can purchase everything from crafts stores and all together this cost me less than $4 to create one pillow.  Instructions and more details are included in the video.  I hope you enjoy!!

Turtle Bay Resort | Premier Ocean View Room

If you have been keeping up with my blog posts, I mentioned I would create another post of the room that we stayed in at the Turtle Bay Resort.   Whenever I am traveling and need somewhere to stay, before booking I always like to search for photos of the actual hotel and normally these photos are taken by the hotel guests.  I find this helpful because it is actual photos from guests who have stayed at the hotel and not photos that have been retouched to make it look better than what it really is.  The newly renovated rooms are perfect.  The only thing I will complain about is that the air conditioning vent made a weird noise and when trying to sleep it was a little uncomfortable since I am a sensitive sleeper. Overall, I enjoyed the service and Turtle bay has a lot to offer.  The room we stayed in is the Premier Ocean View Room.  Pictures are posted above. Enjoy!
